April is a CRAZY freaking month for me. I’m launching a massive course + a 10-week program for Paperback Kingdom, plus two worksheet bundles, AND I’m getting started with the re-release of SOVWRR (which will be making a return in July, 2018).
HECTIC, right?
So maybe this wasn’t the best time to put more challenges on my plate (and considering we’re in Mercury retrograde, I’m really pushing the boundaries this month) but there were a few things I wanted to try.
If I’m completely honest, I’ve been struggling with my business to make sales, and the stress was starting to get to me— so I decided to try this thing called manifestation— and the crazy thing is that it ACTUALLY WORKS, so I’m going to tell you all about my experience below:
Manifestation— What The Heck Is It?
So this technique applies to the Law of Attraction, which is where you attract things into your life. Hundreds of successful people use this technique every single day to manifest their desired income goals and grow their businesses. It sounds a little bit woo-woo, but I can confirm this works.
When you ‘manifest’ something, you are asking the universe to give you something, but this is dependent on three things:
- What signals you are putting out into the universe.
- The way you are feeling.
- And if you truly believe that what you are asking is possible.
So if you (like me, at the time of starting this) are not in a great place financially, and you’re stressed and your bank balance is low and you know you’re not rich or abundant, these negative feelings you are putting out are just going to keep coming back and making the situation worse.
BUT, if you can transform this into a positive thought, then positive things will come back, and in turn, the things you are desiring and trying to manifest.
This was my first challenge— to find a way to turn around my feelings and really believe it was possible, when my practical, Virgo brain kept staring at my bank statements and sending panic signals through my body. I wasn’t able to manifest anything for my business— no clients or sales— until I took a Money Manifestation Challenge hosted by Hayley Tapper. (>> Side note: she is amazing)
It should be noted that before taking this challenge, I had already begun to familiarize myself with manifestation for about a week, by listening to The Lively Show podcast. I’d been failing epically to manifest anything, but I was open to the idea.
Hayley’s challenge helped us to work through money blocks— and I now see that I can apply this kind of thinking to anything I’m having trouble with. That’s why I’ve made the conscious decision to do two things consistently throughout the month of April:
- Keep track of all of my spending habits— this is something that any smart business owner should be doing, so I figured it was time to stop hiding from my bank statements and start finding solutions. By keeping track of everything that goes in and out, I’ll be able to see what I do and don’t need to pay for, and be aware of when bills are due. It will also eliminate the anxiety of me fearing I don’t have money in my account, because I will know exactly what is in my account at all times.
- Start journaling for manifestation daily— this might sound strange coming from a writer, but I hate journaling and I’ve never been able to stay consistent with it. However, I’ve already noticed a massive change in me writing out my blocks and finding workarounds, so I figured this was a good habit to get into. More on this below.
What happened after the Money Manifestation Challenge?
It. Was. Incredible.
I honestly didn’t expect anything big to happen— but I definitely felt like I’d worked through blocks and had clarity on how to improve my situation. After joining another group (run by the incredible Elizabeth Modene from Sovereign Goddess Life Coaching) I was given advice to start small, and manifest something believable. They recommended $5.00 a day, and a red leaf (something that would stand out) so that I could see that it was working.
I ended up settling on three goals the day after the challenge:
- $5.00
- A peg (because I knew there was one lying around but I couldn’t remember where)
- A new lead
I had a good feeling about it, but just journaling it didn’t seem to be enough to make it work. And in Hayley’s challenge, she taught us that in order to receive back from the universe, we had to act like we were abundant.
It just so happened that on this day I was launching my third worksheet bundle in my PBK Printables Shop, but nobody had bought any yet. I stopped and really thought to myself:
“Nobody is buying these, so what can I do to change this?”
I decided to run an ad campaign, even though the thought of spending money made me feel sick to my stomach. But I decided to spend $21.00, which was the cost of a worksheet bundle, and figured that it was completely possible to attract one customer and that doing so would immediately give me return on investment. So I began the ad campaign.
Guess what happened?
Not even a minute later, someone bought a worksheet bundle for $21.00, giving me immediate return on investment + the $5.00 I’d manifested that day.
CRAZY, right?
Let’s fast forward to day two. I decided to up my game a little, and journaled about manifesting another $5.00, and attracting a soulmate client.
That day, someone bought all of the worksheets in my shop (earning me $58.00) and I secured a client for a BIG job! After months in a sales drought with no leads, I was suddenly getting such amazing results! I was sold on the manifestation thing by this point.
And, just to add a sweet cherry on top, I found that peg while I was cooking dinner. 😉
So, what’s my ‘journaling’ technique?
I’m doing a number of things to manifest in my journal. Every month, I’m going to make a page where I can write down thoughts throughout the month about the following three things:
- What I’m grateful for
- What I’m worth
- What I desire
On top of this, I’ve made a space for weekly intentions (one manifestation focus goal per week) + a section to record monthly progress, so that I can look back and see how I’ve grown.
BUT, I’m also sitting down each morning to write out any fears or concerns I have, and figure out what I need to do, change, or believe to shift these mindsets into positive, believable ones. A big part of this is writing out my new daily manifesto:
“I do good work and have my client’s best interests at heart, so I deserve to be paid money that has my best interests at heart.”
I want to really ingrain this into my soul because not only do I feel that it sums up my own beliefs around money, but it really reflects the results I want to receive. I want to earn what I’m worth, but I also want to earn what I deserve— so reminding myself why I deserve to be paid helps me work hard for my clients and do everything in my power to make sure they’re getting the results they want. It’s one thing to desire $5k months, but it’s another thing to feel like I’ve earned what I receive, and I believe the potential is limitless as long as I am doing my part for my clients.
So there you have it— my experience with manifestation, and the changes I’m making to improve my financial situation. I’d like to make this into a series and keep you updated on my progress, so if you think you’d like to give manifestation a try, come join me!
