I’m back with more character interviews!
We’re getting close to the release of my new fantasy novel, Lanterns In The Sky (and I am so excited to finally share it with you!)
Today, I want to introduce you to the main protagonist, Lucy Maisfer:
Hi Lucy! For those who haven’t had you in their brain for the past 7 years, tell us something about yourself!
Right. Uh, well, hello. I’m Lucy–oh, I suppose I should say something actually interesting. Okay, well… I love to read, and I find the night sky relaxing. I’m a bit introverted. What else… I mean, I could mention the *other* thing but I can’t really spoil them, can I?
*Waves contract in the air* No you certainly cannot! Let’s move on–what’s it like living in Lorelei?
Cold! Lorelei gets super cold in wintertime. I love seeing the snow though. It’s the perfect time to curl up by the fire with a cup of tea. My sister, Kyra, and my dad love tea too–we always drink it together in the evenings.
Nice! Do you get along with your sister?
Of course! I mean, we bicker sometimes but she’s my little sis so I have to look out for her! She’s amazing at piano and she can be funny too at times. She has a stubborn side though…
And, are you seeing anyone right now?
What? No–I’m not really into dating. I mean, I could be, but right now I just have other priorities. School is more important, and so is taking care of Valarie. She’s my best friend, and she comes first!
Ah yes, Valarie! And how is Valarie doing at the moment?
Errr… I mean, she’s getting better. Slowly. Besides, I thought this interview was about me? You keep asking me about everyone else!
Sorry–back to you. What are you studying at school?
All the academic subjects! Algebra, Physics, History, Geometry… I’m not really sure what I’d like to do yet, so I’m trying to keep my options open. My mum has high expectations, but I think I’d do good in some kind of leadership role.
So basically, you’re a nerd?
Well… I wouldn’t say that. I’m not that smart. I just enjoy learning things… and I just happen to not go out and party like Valarie does.
Do you have anything you’d like to end with?
Actually, I have a question for you–why did you give me such a traumatic backstory–
Annnnnd that’s all we have time for today! I hope you enjoyed this interview. If so, make sure you subscribe to my mailing list because I plan on interviewing other characters too! And don’t forget you can pre-order Lanterns In The Sky now over at The Parliament House website!
