Book Review – Love Ties, Love Binds, by Alexa Whitewolf

Book reviews

This review is looooong overdue–I’ve been meaning to read and review this book for ages but I just couldn’t get into a mood for a pure contemporary that had no fantasy elements in it. However, the desire finally struck so I’ve finally read it, and oh my gosh–if you love a good, angsty romance with an exciting plot, then you will love this book!

Cassandra DiCavalier thinks she has her life sorted out, when Damon Voight storms back in. Sexy and overprotective, yet with a soft side, this ex-military guy is every girl’s fantasy.

She already had the fantasy – ten years ago – and is not about to fall into the same trap. But despite her best efforts to keep the charming soldier at bay, she seems to be meeting him time and time again.

Cassandra is one tough cookie, and Damon is as stubborn as they come. Will they be able to find their love once again?

What I Liked:

  1. I really liked Cassandra’s character. She was the kind of girl who took no shit, but she also had a very likeable side that complimented and balanced out this tough exterior. I didn’t expect to like her as much as I did.
  2. The story itself definitely keeps you hooked. There were so many intense and swoon-worthy moments, surprises and thrilling scenes! I felt myself grow very attached to the characters and genuinely worried for their wellbeing.

What I Disliked:

  1. It could have been my first few attempts to pick this up and read it, but it took me a little bit to get into this book. It’s not that the story doesn’t start off exciting. I think an additional factor was reading about a couple that was reuniting and not a couple meeting for the first time. It was definitely different to experience and it took me a bit to get used to seeing their relationship develop because there was hidden history there. That definitely makes it unique though, and I feel like this could be an appealing factor for many readers!

Final Thoughts:

Well written, action-packed and romantic–everything you could want from a romantic thriller!

Tea Rating:

Black Tea | This was a strong, powerful book with an intense plotline/characters
